Default Range time with my S&W 617

This is the third time out on the range for this S&W 617 and I think it feels smoother each time. I really enjoy shooting this one. It is the first 22LR revolver that I have ever owned and I am glad that I bought it.

I shot it today at about 25 feet, standing, slow fire. I ran a whole bulk box 550 rounds of federal 22lr.

I would be very happy with that one. I just saw a speed loader for it. Blue press.

I too have a 4" 617 and enjoy shooting it. Great groups if I can hold still enough.

Great feel/balance with the 4" barrel.

I put an Ahrends wood grip on mine (without finger grooves) that I find real comfortable.

    For a speed loader I use a DS-10 Speed loader https://ds10speed.wordpress.com/

The same type of speed loader I have seen in the Dillon Blue Press catalogs made by California Competition Works, but I found the DS-10 first and it is made very well and works very well.

I bought the handle for the speedloader as well as a few loading blocks. Makes range time with the 617 super sweet! Lightning fast reloads... but you will go through a bulk pack of ammo pretty fast.

    Have fun with your 617!

Wow with that much steel and in 22LR, that's gotta be pretty darn light in the recoil department... Good shooting!

I have always wanted one of these, and a 4" Colt Diamondback in .22LR.

I have the 6" 6-shooter in stainless (the 617) but my blue 6" Model 17 from 1957 is my favorite of the two, Dave_n
