Default Best bang for buck: Best handguns under $500.00

Not a bad list...no High-points! Not sure how old it is but includes a G42 so fairly recent. Includes a G19 though Gen4s are typically over $500 at the moment. Mostly .380 and 9mm as expected and one wheel gun—The Judge, made the list. Await arguments for or against selections...

#2 is my EDC. Well at least the UC model pictured in .40 S&W and not the HC model they mention in the caption. The duo tone model was $330 back then but I went all out and paid $10 extra for the nickel finish.

Sig p250 could have used a mention. Can get em for around 400$.

Cheap thanks to Sig releasing a poorly functioning first gen of the firearm and then failing to do proper damage control.

They have a couple different model glocks but are they really under 500$ ?

In the Washington Times huh? Did they bother to mention there are no gun stores in DC? How about the fact that DC doesn't issue carry permits even though the courts have told them to do so (and that the city is close to being held in contempt)? Did they mention the fact that numerous people have been prosecuted for having empty range brass in their possession?

Maybe a little less fluff and some more in depth stories about how crappy the DC gun laws really are would gain them some credibility as a real newspaper ...and a reader following with an average IQ above 70. Screw any newspaper that claims to need the first and won't help with the second; that's no public service...

The best bang for the buck ,striker fired the Canik TP9sa and TP9v2, followed by hammer pistols Canik Shark,120 S ,120 L ,compacts C100 and T100. Last the Sar K2 45 acp and Sar KP2 ,B6 and B6 compact all are under $500 shoot fantastic and I have put over 30,000 rounds thru my collection of Turk made pistols , had one minor failure , I asked for a replacement part they had me ship the pistol back on their dime and they replaced the pistol free of charge. Currently you can get the Sar pistols under $300.00 except for the Sar K2 45 acp pistol. The TP9sa has the best out of the box trigger for a striker fired pistol period, The trigger pull measures in at 5.1 lbs. Your average Glock is 6.1 to 6.5 with Hk and the new Sig p320 weighing in slightly over 7 lbs. I have shot them all and own them all except the Sig 320. Now I can modify my Glocks to have a better trigger , but that pumps up the cost another $180.00 to get it were I like. Under $500 there is one more that I like and that is the M&P striker fired pistols, with the Apex trigger they are pretty nice.

that website is a never ending string of ads and pop-ups so I didn't get far in the list. Assuming we're talking new retail under $500...
wheelguns, rugers LCR is a great piece. Autos, you can also get some XD and M&P for that money. there are a couple models of glock and kahr that should make the list. Ruger should always be on the list, bullet proof designs like the p series...

Love my SIG P250 for approx $400.

My friend got his P-250, cloth bag, plastic case, extra magazine, cleaning rod, lock, and a Kydex holster with his 9mm for UNDER $400. Can't beat that with a stick!

That's my EDC too. I have the duotone in .380, it's fun to shoot too, absolutely no recoil, so much smoother than my previous PPK.
