4 years later, a gang-related hit carried out in their theater.

    Gun free zones work, right?

Sounds like what they are really doing is using this as an excuse to stop you from bringing in non-over-priced snacks.

Everyone knows you smuggle food in coats in the winter, and cargo shorts in the summer.

Bags are the obvious place to look.

Off body carry? Lol, this won’t affect most people. This will disproportionally hurt women from carrying in theaters however.

They don't care that you ARE safe, they just want you to FEEL safe (so you come and spend $$ at their theater). Stupidity on display. They're still trying the same failed ideas.

My bet is that theater patronage drops. Not because of people like us no longer going, but because it will be more difficult for people to sneak their own food and drinks into the theaters. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right? Maybe it's more about that than it is about guns, but it's more popular to place the blame on guns rather than calling out the people who are actually at fault.
I believe you are spot on about the food and drink. When they charge $8 for 3 ounces of popcorn, people find ways to bring in their own snacks. That's what they want to stop.

and, of course, this indicates how important it is to be prepared for zombies.

Don't care. Can't even remember the last time I went to see a movie at a theatre. The way the animals act today , I can say with 99.999% certainty I'll never go to one again.

A 72" HDTV , Blu-Ray with pause/rew/FF , Bose sound system , comfortable recliner , close by bathroom and fridge full of food & drink virtually guarantees it.

    It's private property, folks.

If you don't like it, don't see the movie or don't buy popcorn.

It's not really that complicated. And it IS posted prominantly on the front door and has been in many theaters for quite a while. It should be no surprise. Not that I agree with the policy. I just don't carry backpacks into movies...because of this stupidity. But, I will occasionally catch a movie.
