Assault Rifle friendly shooting range?
I have several AR's, an M1A, and a really scary Saiga 12 shotgun that I would really like to shoot but I'm having a hell of a time finding a range that will let me enjoy my guns. French Creek Outfitters told me no to the high power centerfire and the nixed the Saiga as well. The public shooting ranges and other private outdoor ranges I've found have whacky 3 round mag cap limits. I think I can shoot at Targetmasters, but that is almost an hour away.
Is there nothing closer???

Re: Assault Rifle friendly shooting range?
Good luck with Kimberton. I called their published number about 4-5 times over a period of about two months, and no one answered. Too bad, as it was really close to where I lived at the time.
Atglen won't hassle you over what gun you bring, as long as you don't fire full-auto nor use a weapon that chambers 50 BMG ammo.

Re: Assault Rifle friendly shooting range?
Looking at Kimbertons webpage, it appears they have a 10 round mag cap and only allow 2 rounds in a shotgun. I suppose it's better than being turned away all together (like at French Creek Outfitters) but that falls into my "not assault weapon friendly" catogory.
I am going to check out www.atglensportsmensclub.org/ perhaps this weekend. It looks to be a bit of a drive from Exton, but at this point, I think I'm in for a drive no matter what.
Thanks for the help guys!

Re: Assault Rifle friendly shooting range?
A friend of a friend brought me as a guest to Southern Chester County Sportsmen's & Farmers' association. We were shooting 30 round mags from a Yugo AK on the 50 yard range. I don't see any mag limits on their website. You might have trouble with the Saiga 12, nothing eats up target backers like a 12ga.

Try Ft.Dix rod and gun club Ft.dix n.j. .they have a 2oo yard range and it costs $60 for the year and $3.00 per hr. has a rifle and pistol range .also a skeet range.
