I moved do i need to call the sheriffs office and let them know, so they can change it on their records or should I not worry about it?
Your LTCF is good until it expires. At that time, and that time only, can you get the address changed. There are no provisions in the law for getting it changed earlier, except maybe getting a brand new license before you have to.

Nothing to worry about. It's getting your driver's license changed that you have to concern yourself with.

i hate goping downtown so i utilized this option and was pleased, you walk in ask the deputy for a LTCF app fill it out he takes half the money then and takes your pic. ( it will be mandatory next year) also it is a legal photo id in Pa,

he will tell you to come back next tuesday between 5 and 7pm and you pay the rest and off you go

Do they not do this any longer? I went to that address today at 5:30 and no-one there. Also, I saw the judge that resided next door also had a note on the door stating the DJ had moved. Kinda looked as though there was only a dentist at that location these days.

Guess I will just have to deal with Downtown.

I still do not have any information confirming if they still do this at the other office. I attempted to call the office twice, and must have gotten them over an 'extended' lunch both times. Neither call has been returned as of yet, and it's been over a week.

I think it might be safe to say at this point that if you are a Dauphin Co resident, you're going to have to go downtown.

    Cheers,

Also no to hijack this thread....I moved do i need to call the sheriffs office and let them know, so they can change it on their records or should I not worry about it?

The guys that said there is no legal requirement to tell the Sheriff are correct, however I would read this post from GunLawyer before making any decisions.

It's useful to be reminded of the imminent expiration.

Much more importantly, that license in your wallet is only as good as the sheriff says it is. A revoked license is no license at all. So if the sheriff gets a call from some department, asking him to revoke your LTCF because you carried openly at the ballet, or because your neighbor saw you loading up your trunk with guns, or for some more legitimate revocation reason, you NEED TO KNOW that it was revoked. Then you can challenge the revocation, and you won't be pulled over while carrying and be charged with a felony.

So, give me a detailed scenario where the sheriff having your current address would be bad for you, that balances the nightmare of you being charged with a felony?

Update as of 11 April, 2013.

The CCW can be applied and picked up at either:
    Dauphin County Sheriff's Office
    Sheriff Jack Lotwick
    Chief Ralph G. McAllister
P.O. Box 1067, Front and Market Streets
    Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17108
    Telephone 717-255-2660
    Fax 717-255-2889
    http://stage.dauphincounty.org/conte...rry-a-firearm/

    During normal hours or at

The offices of Magisterial District Judge William C. Wenner
    5925 Stevenson Avenue
    Suite B
    Harrisburg, 17112
    p: 717-545-0261
    f: 717-545-8015
From the hours of 1700-1900 on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The District office doesn't do them personally, they have the Sheriff's office use their offices after hours.

    Hope this helps.

Unfortunately the office of Magisterial District Judge ONLY does renewals, not initial applications as I just found out from going there

Is there any explanation as to why? The other than the checkbox on the paper form, the process is exactly the same.
