    Default Hand gun registration

A friend of mine gave me some hand guns to keep in my gun safe a few years back and I have no paper work on them but I know where they were purchased
He has died since then and there is no next of kin
Is there a way to have these guns legally registered in my name

IANAL, but I'd think even with no next of kin that the guns are part of his estate. Whoever handled his estate would, I believe, be responsible for disposition of the guns.

It would seem what happened between you and your friend was a "loan" of firearms. So, i don't think you can just keep them unless his will stated that, if he had a will.

Do you know who the executor of the estate was?

I hope you also had a LTCF since you took possession of the handguns to the current time otherwise the loan would probably be illegal as well. As with HiredGoon I'm betting you are going to have to track down the executor of his estate.
