    Default Recovering firearm

Hello everyone, so yesterday I was in a motorcycle accident and this morning when I came to my father informed me that the police officer has my Glock 23. I guess the police officer told my father I have to fill out some paper work that they send to harrisburg, and the ATF in order to retrieve my firearm. I've called the officer who was on scene multiple times and he will not answer the phone or call me back. Does anyone know exactly what I must do in order to get my firearm back? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Once you're able to, go to the appropriate police station and request your property back.

Most likely a PICS check. Probably have to send it because police departments in Fayette County have no phones... just tin cans with string.

That's all I have to do? Do you have any idea on how long it will take for me to get it back?

I you bought it PA and it is in the sales data base they should give it back right then. I can't quote the law but they suppose to return firearms in a timely manner. Anything else and they are messing with you. Perhaps one of our resident lawyers will chime in and quote chapter and verse.

If they are on the ball, 5 minutes... they will run the PICS check and if all is well, hand it back to you.

They have to make sure the gun is registered to you.

And shouldn't the cop have given a receipt for the gun to somebody when he took it?
