I've seen pompous purists arguing for years that we need to "punish" the GOP by letting the Democrats run and ruin our country. I'd rather cut my nose off than be castrated by TWO FACED TOOMEY. At least Sestak will make it swift and painless because we know where he's coming from.

I still think Toomey and Manchin do this because they know it won't pass, playing both sides for their own political game.

What political gain is there to be had for Toomey by pissing off his base? I believe PA has more NRA members than any other state. Does he think he is going to get the urban vote in Philly? Seriously. WTF is wrong with this guy? He even talks to Ceasefire PA but not to people like you and me.

He know republicans will vote for him or a dem will get the Senate seat. By pushing the gun control legislation that has no hope of passage he pulls in suburban democrat voters.

This is exactly what Toomey believes. . . that because it is a Presidential year Republicans will "pull the R" across the board and that by talking about reducing gun violence, independents will vote for him. This bullshit comes from stupid consultants who don't know reality and sell their 'expertise'. When it comes to the right to keep & bear arms, the consultants are simply wrong. You don't take sides with the anti-gun crowd without loosing 5% - 10% of your base.
