Machining in Central Bucks
So you may have seen that I posed a couple of pictures in the "What did you buy" thread. If not, I have just picked up a new gun:
https://us.armscor.com/products/rock-ultra-fs-hc-45acp
My concern is that this is too heavy for use in IDPA competition. I just did a quick weigh and it looks to be a couple of ounces heavier than allowed.
So I'm going to need some material machined off. I think I can get to the proper weight with tri-topping the slide and the frame under the grip panels is solid, not hollowed out like most 1911's (see below and ignore the oil).
Does anyone know of anyone in the Central Bucks area that can do the work and not charge an arm and a leg? I should check with Sean @ CDI, but I know he doesn't like working on RIA's so I was looking for alternatives if he passes.
Of course the other problem is, will this void the lifetime warranty? I have that e-mail into Armscor to find out.
