ammo for a Glock
Thinking of getting a Glock 42 uses 380 ammo.
Any suggestions as to what is the preferred target ammo for the 42?I'd rather have a gun in my hand then a cop on the phone.

Re: ammo for a Glock
Whatever jacketed ammo is cheapest. Anything but bare lead.
You are talking about a small-ish pocket-ish pistol. The accuracy of your practice ammo will likely not be a factor between various types of factory FMJ/TMJ loads. If money is no object, Speer Lawman. But any jacketed factory load will probably suffice.

Re: ammo for a Glock
cheap fmj for targets and some recommend fmj for carry as well due to the fact that penetration with jhp can be an issue out of the cartridge from short barrels
i dont have much experience with the 42 and am not sure if the spring needs broken in or not but it would be a safe bet to plan to put a good 250+ rounds through it to break it in
if you want to have some fun try out a bunch of the underwood offerings (fmj, extreme penetrator, +p, jhp, etc)Montani Semper Liberi

Re: ammo for a Glock
Winchester white box 95 gr works well in the G42. It is consistent, too.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

My Ruger LCP likes Speer Gold Dots. I can't see a Glock not being able to eat them.

I have a Glock 23. I've used Winchester White Box a lot for target practice. American Eagle is usually priced pretty good too. Just make sure whatever you buy is jacketed, new ammo. Bulk lead rounds, reloads, while cheap, violate the warranty.

I use Ammunitiontogo.com often. Good prices, selection, fast shipping etc.

I order from them so often they threw in a free box one time. I was shocked. Great company!

Like others have said, any FMJ for practice ammo. Speer Gold Dots or Remington Golden Saber Bonded (if you can find them) Hollow points have come a long way in performance over the years.

If you're already set up to reload other pistol rounds, a set of 380 dies isn't too expensive and will let you make practice rounds to your liking for a lot less than buying them. I currently load 100gr Xtreme plated for my Kahr CW380 with very good results.
