Transfer firearm from out of state.
A co-worker's dad just passed away (dad lived in Virginia), He has a few pistols that he would like to sell. Anyone familiar how this transaction would occur? Would they need to be transferred to co-worker through a local licensed ffl dealer then to me or could they be directly transferred to me through a local ffl dealer. Not real sure since the guns are from out of state

I don't know VA law. but fed and PA law just requires the FFL in PA.

Re: Transfer firearm from out of state.
If the son is named in the will, or is the primary beneficiary from the estate via intestate succession(family inheritance) - he(the son) can take direct possession of the guns without a FFL being needed. Federal, VA, and PA laws allow for interstate transfers due to bequest or intestate succession.
Any transfer to you, either from the estate or from the son, would require a FFL in PA.
The simplest thing to do is have the son receive the guns. Then the son and you go to a FFL in PA to do the transfer from the son to you.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
