    Default Cobra handguns.

I was at the LGS the other day. He had a bunch of Cobra handguns. They were priced in the $150 range . What are these things? A poor man's Hi-Point?

They are literally a branch off the raven/jennings family tree (company was started by the son in law of the guy who started raven). Probably better than a lot of pot metal turds, but not by much

No, a Hi-Point is a poor man's Hi-Point. Cobras are another poor choice, that's all. P.S. they work

I've owned 2 different Cobra deringers.
I know they make a few others models.
The 22mag deringer I liked and shot well , meaning head shots with either barrel at 10yds all day. And were on with the sight.
The 38spl was a bit bigger which sucked and the 2 barrels shots about 6 inches apart at 7 yds. Neither was near the point of aim.
I wish I had kept the 22mag for no real reason.
The 38spl on the other hand ..... easy come easy go

Yeah, the whole history of that family and all the gun companies they started is worth looking into.

I have the large frame derringer as well. 38 spl/.380acp barrels for it. If you buy one it is pretty easy to go between calibers on the same frame. Not very accurate past @ 10ft. I carry it in the front pocket of my bibs when I'm working on my in laws farm. For the price if it gets beat up I don't really care and it goes bang every time.
