    Default Entry level 1911

Which one would choose between a CAI, Taurus, or RIA?

Mostly it would be for my collection but I would like to OC with it sometimes so it would also be SD. I would strongly prefer as close to GI spec as possible.

    .

I traded into one a few years back and was surprised to find I liked it. Needed to replace the safety lever on one side, called their CS and they sent out a new one along with a CD on how to replace it. Not as nicely finished as the Colts but a very nice pistol for the price.

    My RIA has been flawless.

    More accurat-er than I am.

Works every time a good round is put in it.

I don't reload, but my RIA is fantastic with any ammo.

Just to get it out of the way before someone else says it don't you know by now that it's impossible to get a fully functional 1911 for under $150,000,000.

RIA would be my 1st choice their new line up looks excellent they also changed their logo and stopped billboarding the sides of their slides which is a plus. I hope to have my hands on one of their 9mm/.22 TCM pistols soon. There are a few good deals on used 1911's in the classifieds there is what appears to be a very upgraded Taurus for under $600.00 if I remember correctly.

I really liked my Tisas 1911-A1. It performed without any failures. I regret selling it. The trigger pull wasn't that bad for a "budget/entry" 1911.

Ok look I totally agree with you but for the "smoother" part. Please be more expressive in what you mean. I own colts, rugers, Turnbuls, rock islands and a Remington. Only the Turnbuls glide like glass when you rack the slide or the ones I've shot thousands through but they rattle. one thing, try cocking the hammer first then rack, dragging the hammer back adds lots of things to "feel".
