Taurus model 617

I just picked one of these up and don't know much about it other than the cool factor. I did a you tube search and a Google search but I'm not finding what info I need. I know it's a 1998 model and it's stainless steel but it's DAO and no key lock, all the ones I've seen have a hammer spur and key lock, did I get one before that? Also did the guy before me put the hammer on or did they ever come in this configuration?

I'd say you have an older one, pre lock.
