Re: Montgomery County LTCF Application
That is correct.
Some things that may have potentially influenced this outcome are: 1. I was the only one there applying 2. Already had a license (even though it was from another county) 3. That license had not yet expired (although it was about to) 4. I already had the application filled out before arriving 5. I was in professional attire
The MontCo website clearly states that people renewing from another county will be treated as a new application and require the check card, I can't think of reasons aside from what I listed above why they would deviate from their policy.....will that extra 15% matter? not as much as being able to put one in their face. ~Edg

Re: Montgomery County LTCF Application
So I'm very pleasantly surprised at how quick and painless it was for me to renew my LTCF today. It only took about 15 minutes this morning for me to renew. The first time, it was a huge PITA, but my renewal was very fast.

Re: Montgomery County LTCF Application
I overheard a deputy say that in December 2015, they had 1,000 applicants and 900 of those were first time applications. Guess that our POTUS is not only a good gun salesman, but he's also getting more folks to take ownership of protecting themselves and their loved ones.

Re: Montgomery County LTCF Application
Just wanted to add that I moved to Conshohocken from Philadelphia 3 years ago and just called to ask about the local police check.
The Sgt. who I spoke with from the Gun Permit Unit said that local police checks are no longer required.

Re: Montgomery County LTCF Application
Update:
I went in today for my "renewal" which was technically a new application since I moved from Philadelphia to Montco.
I went around 2PM and the place was a zoo outside because of the Kathleen Kane trial.
There were two gentlemen ahead of me and it took me about 30 minutes total to renew.
No police card check, just the one page application and the $20 fee.
