How much to machine barrel for threaded Muzzle Brake?
What is a typical cost to machine a Rem. 700 barrel for a threaded muzzle brake. Not looking for the cost of the brake, just the threading.

I replied to your other thread. You are looking at $75-150 not including the muzzle brake of your choice. Just remember that having a low cost is nice, but having it done properly is priceless. Especially, if down the road you get a suppressor, you will need those threads to be concentric.

Re: How much to machine barrel for threaded Muzzle Brake?
I charge $65 an hr for man and machine. I do them in a 4 jaw chuck indicating the I.D of muzzle and chamber, and single point thread in 1-2 hours. "Most" times it's about $100...and I do ALLOT of threading, mostly for cans which really need to be precise so you don't bounce bullets off them. aubie515 is right in the ball park. I also do porting which is integral with the barrel, It generally runs the same as threading the barrel and buying a conspirator. Good luck!

Depends on a lot of things, but do you know if the barrel is straight?
