No longer need references for LTCF in Philly after settlement?

Hey everyone,

I have been on these forums before but I just created the account to post my query. I apologize if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything.

I moved to Philly last year from the PRNJ and being a rifle enthusiast I have always wanted to own a few of my faves . But before I buy one, I'd really like to get an LTCF just in case. (What if your car breaks down on the way to the range etc)

The PPD website says 2 references with PA DLs are required and therefore I never bothered to get one as I only a know a handful of people in PA and for a short period and I'd feel really guilty if I asked them for a reference.

I just came across this blog post though a few mins ago and I'm stoked!

It says the PPD paid out a settlement and also agreed to not require references for Philadelphia residents for an LTCF among other things.

So what's the word on it? Does anybody know if I can apply without furnishing the references?

You dont need that go to the ppd website and under the forms tab there is a totally new application along with a settlement details notice

Every time I re-new they ask for references. WTF? Either you pass background or you don't. So does this throw that all out?

They made me get a note from my Mom. Mom went down there and took the belt to them ninnies.
