Re: The PAFOA Forum has been upgraded to vBulletin 4
For those still following along:
- I am 99% sure I have put a temporary/semi-permanent fix in place for the hourly 2-4 minute downtime that was occurring. Unfortunately a true fix can only come from vBulletin and I am filing a ticket with them shortly.
- I have worked out most of an updated PAFOA/vB4 design style and will continue testing it. I'm hoping it can be put into place sometime tomorrow.
Thanks for everyone's patience.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association

Re: The PAFOA Forum has been upgraded to vBulletin 4
Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately no. The old software is no longer supported by the company and contains security vulnerabilities that were putting visitors at risk. We held off for many years past the expiration date, but it was becoming irresponsible.
I realize that there's a lot of changes, but from what I've seen poking around they are mostly cosmetic rather than functional. My best suggestion would be to give it a week or two, visit regularly, and see if it just takes an adjustment period.
If there are specific things that a harder to figure out, please post them and I'm sure myself or another helpful member can point you in the right direction.Last edited by danp; May 31st, 2015 at 11:32 AM.

I'm with Emptymag on this one.
The color layout is genuinely horrible and when combined with the small text the site has become unbearable.

layout looks great, Dan! Thank you for your hard work. Any way we can get the sub-categories for classifieds and firearms posted under the main categories on the main page?

Re: The PAFOA Forum has been upgraded to vBulletin 4
I have deployed a PAFOA-branded version of the vB4 theme that gets our header/footer back in place. If you see anything strange please try holding the shift key and hitting the refresh button on your browser to clear any cached data.
If you still see design issues please post them here.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association

I can't make any posts under anything under the "Events" section. I specifically would like to comment in this thread, but can't.

Re: The PAFOA Forum has been upgraded to vBulletin 4
Posting was disabled purposefully, there is no longer a relation between those forum threads and the events on the calendar. Eventually those forums will be retired and archived. I am keeping them there so people can find information, but no new information can be posted unfortunately at this time.
I dislike that we had to do it this way, but it was the only functionality that I was completely unable to port over from the vB3->vB4 upgrade.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association
