Default Any public ranges in NEPA, besides Sunset Hill?

Ive been to Sunset Hill many years ago. Recently heard their "first time customer safety certification" went up to $10. Plus whatever their normal range usage fee is.

Any place nearby that I could shoot for cheaper? Only gonna be in rhe area for a day, so no membership-only places for me.

You used to be able to go to the public Game Commission Ranges for free, however they now require the person to have a valid hunting license or a range use permit.

Of course, if you know someone that already holds those, they can bring you along for free as a guest.

Looked into that. That sounds like a better option, as the range use permit is only $30/year. Thanks for the heads up.

I got in touch with Sunset Hill. They've definitely upped their prices quite a bit. They want $40 per person for the first visit, which includes an apparent mandatory 1yr membership (but is somehow still $15 per day after that). No thanks.

There is a SGL Range in Tobyhanna off Route 380. You can also get the SGL range permit on-line.

Thanks. Did some reading on it. Sounds good to me.
