Responsible carry is preached from the pulpit in my church. OC or CC, come get your Jesus on.

In this age of sissified, metrosexual Pastors, any Pastor who is OK with guns is a good thing. A lot of these Pastors would tremble in fear behind the altar at the mention of a firearm.

Re: Conceal carry in church.
I was a bit reluctant to carry in church when I first started carrying regularly (out of concern I would offend others if seen), but came to find out that quite a few people carry there.
Now I often carry in church but I've found my usual Glock 19 is awkward to conceal with my usual IWB (in-waistband) holster and a tucked-in shirt. I normally use a tuckable type holster but leave my shirt untucked. When I wear a shirt tucked-in it tends to work its way out from over the holster, and the bulky blocky Glock also prints like crazy when covered by tight clothing.
I recently picked up an M&P Shield 9mm in the hopes of easier concealment when wearing "church clothes" (as well as to have a smaller and lighter alternative for carry in very hot weather).Last edited by twency; May 8th, 2015 at 11:48 AM.

Re: Conceal carry in church.
if it is like most protestant churches any guidelines/prohibitions would first have to be okayed by the elders. i am not trying to pile on you bud but he does seem like a fudd at best, which is okay, as long as you are aware. responsible carrying can be a beautiful thing, especially when you and everyone around you has a target on their back.
i know plenty of "gun guys" who cringe at the thought of someone carrying, which clues me in on the fact that they are not actually gun guys.

I don't go to church because I'm not religious. But if I did go to church for any reason (such as a wedding), I would be carrying. I do not rely on anyone else for my protection, safety, and well-being—not the government, not the police, not "God" if such an entity exists.

Re: Conceal carry in church.
Just a thought, didn't it come out that the psycho who shot up the movie theater bypass a dozen or so theaters until he came across one that didn't allow firearms?
Now, fast forward to this conversation and wonder if anyone would go to this length again, only instead of picking a theater, picked a church?
Finally, ask yourself how you would feel knowing you had the pistol, had the permit yet opted to not carry to a church on the day it happened? Knowing you have the means to prevent someone in your congregation, or worse yet someone in your family being hurt, maimed, or killed.
Yes, I carry in church, because living with that much grief and pain would probably tear me apart. I don't advertise, flaunt it, or even speak of it. I just do it and pray that I never need to use it.
