I carry a weapon of some type for just about every moment of my life that I'm not asleep or in Communist controlled foreign lands (Jersey).

That includes Church, in my home, and anywhere else not expressly forbidden by law.

The day my Pastor asks me not to carry is the day I'll start the petition for his removal. I've told him so. As a matter of fact, during his interview process, he was asked, by a Deacon, "Are you going to have an issue with guns being carried in Church?" He's from California so we wanted to be sure he wasn't one of 'those people'.

His wife is turning out to be quite the liberal though. Several people have mentioned that they are going to miss him if he can't get her mind straightened out.

I carry in church:

1) My church takes in an average of $1,500 - $2,000 in CASH (via the collection plate) every week. Seems to me, a bad guy would see a church as an easy target for some easy money.

2) People of "other faith" have sworn to kill or convert all "non-believers", seems like a church would be a High Value Target.

In the early days of this country men carried their firearms to Church for fear of Indians. It will become a necessity again for fear of Muslims.

I carry every Sunday that I'm in church. I CC either a j-frame or my m&p 9c. As of late the m&p with an extra mag more than anything. Ya just never know when something could go down...and attending a church 30 min away from the nearest psp barracks makes my decision all the easier. I am glad that churches aren't a prohibited location as they are in some other states.

Outside the obvious places, my job, post office, school, Federal buildings, other states without recip, etc., I carry all the time. Around the house, to the gym, church, store. I don't see it as "places I should carry or not", based on some nebulous likelyhood. You cannot predict when you will need to act in your own interest or loved one.

Not a place where I play the percentages, because it's not about the likelyhood...it's about the cost.

You can maybe still survive an attack, but is survival enough? You can be horribly maimed for the rest of your life and still survive. I don't want that knowing I could have had the opportunity to prevent it, but didn't, base on a perceived likelyhood. That's cold comfort, IMO. If you CAN carry, DO carry. Additionally, I recommend carrying spares, New York reload, a good knife, a flashlight and a bear trap and pack of wolves. No sense in being sort of prepared. I personally embrace a touch of subdued paranoia. Keeps my head in the game. My condition white is mostly yellow. I don't tend to think bad things only happen to other people, I conversely "know" it's only a matter of time and circumstance til we all get our turn. What are you going to do with your turn when that holy shit moment comes?
