Did I say there is no reason an open carrier would be killed with his own gun? No. I can think of a few reasons.

I said the fact that cops are killed with their own guns does not translate to open carriers. I am willing to bet that 99% of the time it is to escape arrest and prosecution or justice. I have to worry about a lot of things, but not that.

I'll try. I was busy with this MPOETC updates stuff. Something about Open Carry, First Class City, Civil Rights, etc. Ooh lunch time, I'll get back to that later.

I'd have told him, just give me the money now and avoid the legal fees of a civil trial...

You are right... the two are unrelated entirely. I took your post to say that there has never been an OC'r that has been disarmed and killed with his own pistols. If I mistook, my bad.

Higher would be nice but "same" would be a good start.

I had something similar to this. I wasn't there from the beginning, I didn't know exactly what the circumstances were, but I didn't interrupt the stop because it wasn't extremely out of line. Afterward when I got the complete story, I have to admit that I had to print out our directive, a commissioner's memo and a quarterly training handout (MPO updates) to show them, because they didn't believe what I had to say.

Had a state trooper pull me over on my motorcycle for 'helmet inspection' , when I opened my wallet and took out my D/L , he saw my LTCF , he stepped back , put his hand on his gun , unsnapped and screamed "DON'T MOVE!!! , where's the gun?!?! You are obligated to tell an officer , yadda , yadda , yadda.

Called for back-up. Local PD soon arrived.

Told him I wasn't carrying. Didn't matter. Ordered me off my bike. On the ground. Pat down , saddle bags searched.

Local PD said, ''That guy was totally in the wrong about the entire incident.''

Hence, a good reason to employ 'unalterable' body cameras on ALL LEO's.
    Gotta keep 'em honest, somehow.
They fail to police themselves, so the public should demand ALL interactions with the public be recorded, and held for a minimum of 30 days.
