Default SC looking to rescind CCW requirement & honor all other states CCW's

When I drive to Fl. I always have to put my gun in the trunk before I cross into the state due to their not recognizing Pa's CCW's. Please pass this so we can carry from Pa to Fl with no problems.

On April 23, the South Carolina House took up a concealed carry reform bill containing an amendment rescinding the need for a concealed carry permit. The measure passed 90 to 18.

The bill–H. 3025–seeks to reform South Carolina reciprocity rules so that any concealed carry permit from any other state would be recognized as valid in The Palmetto State.

I just went on a SC gun forum to get the scoop on the chances of this passing.

Let me tell you, it doesn't sound like they want this, and it sure as Hell doesn't sound like they deserve it! It's like fucking New Jersey over there.

It's only 11 posts, take a look if you want to puke.

    I love this gem:

There is only one thing that unites gun owners: owning a gun. Not politics and certainly not an appreciation of liberty or justice.

The overwhelming majority of people love the false security of tyranny just so long as it disadvantages someone else more than themselves, even of it doesn't actually afford any discernable protection or advantage.

Another state heading in the right direction. Does this include non-resi CCW's?

I thought the post he was replying to though was a good one

Pardon me. I'm new to SC...moving from CT where all guns are registered, AR's are banned, you have to have a permit to buy .22 shells, and your neighbor, during permit application review, is asked whether he thinks you are suitable to carry. So, I'm wondering where the SC liberty lovers hang out on the Internet. I see that SC house just passed 2nd reading of a bill that would allow anyone, who presumably can legally acquire and possess a firearm to carry. I'm ready to toss this random CWP permit in the trash where it belongs. But all I hear is whining and skepticism on the web and FB. If you love the 2nd it would seem that we should be throwing it into high gear to pass this. SC can jump in front of the nation on this question. So, can someone direct me to the folks in charge of chasing this goal?

When I read the bill, I didn't see where non-residents were excluded from permitless carry. I also interpreted it as all non-res permits honored, as the language was modified. Sorry don't have the link here.

This. SC SECTION 16-23-20 (9) allows " secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle; however, this item is not violated if the glove compartment, console, or trunk is opened in the presence of a law enforcement officer for the sole purpose of retrieving a driver's license, registration, or proof of insurance."

They shouldn't pass that law. The constitution specifically states that training must be obtained before exercising the rights the government now controls.

Unfortunately, I will not attending an awesome family event in Myrtle Beach, SC this year all due to the fact that I can not legally possess a firearm on my person in that State. As such, I would have spent probably close to $2,000 plus on this trip... hotel, food, fishing, entertainment, gas and so on, but.. I will spend that elsewhere. Once South Carolina recognizes are LTCF like every state around it, I will then go there and spend money.
