    Default Montco LTCF

I have been looking at houses in Montgomery Co. and might be moving there soon, I currently have a LTCF in Bucks Co. which expires in about 5 months. It looks like Montco has extra hoops to jump through. Can I renew early in Bucks or do I have to wait until I'm expired to start all the BS in Montco?

Do you want the wrong address on your LTCF for the next five years? Then get it there.

What townships in Montco are you considering?

While there are a few towns in Montco that charge residents a fee to fill out the local police form, or take other steps to harass resident that want to get an LTCF, I've never heard of Horsham as being one of them.

Lower Merion, Pottstown and a West Norriton seem to lead the way in this oppression.

If for some reason you don't want to get the local form filled out, just apply direct at the sheriff. Then he has to check with the locals and verify your address. It may take a bit longer, depending on circumstances, but no more than 45 days.

Oh, renewing early would also lose a few months off your 5-years, the new one gets 5 years from issuance, not 5 years from the old ones expiration.
