Default Butler County 2nd Amendment rally TODAY April 25

WHAT: Butler County Second Amendment Rally

    WHEN: Saturday, April 25, 10:00 a.m.

WHERE: Diamond Park, across from the Courthouse, Main and Diamond Streets, downtown Butler

Gun owners in Butler County have a long tradition of firearms ownership and safe firearms use. The goal of this rally is to showcase the public’s enthusiastic support for Constitutional rights and overwhelming opposition to new firearms restrictions that are being proposed both on the federal and state level.

This event will be a peaceful, family-friendly, and motivational rally that will send a positive message of gun ownership to our state’s elected officials. It will seek to dispel the illusion of misleading statistics from gun-control advocates through dialogue and a host of qualified speakers, including Congressman Mike Kelly, Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe, retired Navy Seal Commander Matt Shipley and Kim Stolfer, President of the Pennsylvania based Firearm Owners Against Crime.

All citizens are invited to attend from around Butler and neighboring counties who support and to help us celebrate our heritage and belief in our mutually shared Constitutional values. Attendees are encouraged to bring polite, topical signs to help demonstrate their support.

    AGENDA:

Opening Prayer by Pastor Joe Florif, Community Alliance Church
    Pledge of Allegiance
    Remarks by Congressman Mike Kelly
Proclamation read by William McCarrier, Chairman, Butler County Commissioners
Remarks by Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe
Remarks by Bea Turner, nationally known Constitutional advocate
Remarks by Matt Shipley, Retired Navy Seal Commander
Key Remarks by Kim Stolfer, Founder/President, FOAC

    Bump.

It's too bad this wasn't posted earlier, but I just found out today from a FOAC email. Anyone else going?

I guess they don't want too much support as this is the first I've heard about this.

I would have went if I found out about this a couple of weeks earlier

Unfortunately not able to attend due to work, but the wife and my 7yo daughter are on their way now. Hopefully there is a good turn out. There was an add in the Butler Eagle but it was a few pages back and probably the size of a cars key fob. Wish the rally would have been better publicized so i could have taken the day off.

Nice rally today, I'm guessing there was about 150 people. They said it's going to be a yearly event, hopefully they'll let us know in advance next year.

Got to meet Sheriff Slupe. He and the Butler mayor both said they wouldn't let the Feds come here and trample anyone's 2A rights. Talk is cheap, and they probably couldn't do much in practice to stop the Feds, but I'd sure as heck rather have a mayor who carries than a Peduto or Nutter trampling the preemption law!
