Its OSHA regulation, Really? Which one, I want to look it up to make sure I am in FULL compliance. Nobody has EVER gotten back to me!
You know what? I don't see that as a loss of patience for the simple fact there are so many misconceptions out there these days. Lately everyone and their brother seems to feel they know what the laws are and aren't, especially these large chain stores and their corporate lackeys. To be honest I think they are spouting what they WISH the laws would be but 99.9% of the time they are making it up as they go.

I mean hell how many times have we seen it right on this forum when someone is told carrying a weapon openly is illegal by an LEO. Now if the cops don't know the laws and spout off opinion as 'fact' whats to stop these store clerks and managers to do the same thing?

We live in a world where 5% of the people know the facts and the rest are making it up as they go, adapting their stupidity to the current situation.

I've never been told I could not buy ammo and a firearm at the same time in Walmart in WV. I've been told that I could not buy a shotgun and ammo at Woodlands on RT 40 in PA. Most of the large stores walk you out when you buy a firearm. Cabela's, Bass Pro, and Walmart all do. Management tells shift managers what to and it not worth getting worked up over. Just go some place else and let your $$ talk.

I think most of them know it's not the law. They probably figure people will be less inclined to give them a hard time if they say it's the law as opposed to admitting that it's store policy. I'm sure they don't expect their customers to know the actual laws.

I bought an AK47 and 700 rounds from dunhams.

Manager took it to the check out counter. But he wasn't even there when I checked out. The clerk just handed over the rifle and nobody made the slightest hint it was an uncomfortable experience for them. (or so I seem to perceive from the stories you guys tell) The lady at the counter asked me what I got. I said AK. She said 'cool!'.

And off I went. How it SHOULD BE.

They aren't super well informed, but they are all friendly.

I stopped back later to get some targets and more ear plugs, and the one kid that was there the day I bought the AK gave me a discount. Just because he remembered I bought the rifle there. I didn't even ask for one. Might not be the best place to buy (price wise) but if they treat you good. They deserve the business.

I would have gotten the money back for the rifle and gone elsewhere.

reminds me of a time when a waiter tried to tell me it was against state law to serve me a "rare" hamburger.

    uh-huh....
