    Default Just picked up this SIG P229

    Just picked this up for $475. I'm loving it already. It's my second firearm after I purchased an XDm compact new. Came with 50 rounds .40 FMJ and 30 or so Horandy Critical Duty hollows. Also a paddle holster. Pretty good deal I think. Manufacture mark indicated a factory date of 1995, so it's an earlier 229.

    Plans for the gun:

    1: New Rosewood grips (purchased)
    2: Short reset trigger (ordered online)
    3: Cerakote slide (something with class just to refinish the slide since there is slight wear)

    Awesome man great buy, I can't wait to be a sig owner. Just need to decide which freakin one I want to buy first.... It's between the 226 and 227 I think.

    Yeah man I was ecstatic. I think it was manufactured in '95, but it looks damn good for its age. Can't wait to shoot it.

    Nice old Sig! I wouldn't bother ceracoting it. It looks good the way it is. For spare mags, grips, etc, try Greg Cote. He has good prices & fast shipping.

    Careful, they're addicting.

    I have a trade-in .40 229 myself. Purchased a used p228 slide complete with night sights on eBay for $125. Look into that.

    You cant beat A P229 no rail 40 S&W!
    I always thought my triple SN P228 W. German was my top Sig. Untill I picked up Police trade in P229.

    It is oneof many igs I own, but it is the one that goes outback to the berm almost everyday.
