TAURUS 85 38 SPECIAL LATEST MFG.
Picked this up for the wife ! She has difficulty racking slides and her Ruger LCR 22 lr never really cut it in my book even with 9 rounds 22 ! And the D/A only made the Ruger trigger even more harder to pull .The Taurus is their latest with the new grip configuration with the Bull and the DA/SA,well is very compatible with a S&W.Black Satin finish and not an ultralite gives even more of a recoil advantage.Loaded with Remington HTP 110 gr Hollow points gives more confidence in what this gun has to offer for CCW. I like my 85 snubbie a lot. I put rubberized grips on mine and occasionally carry it with a leather OWB, although it usually lives in the nightstand.
I also found that it is easy to handle for my wife, and of course the simplicity of the revolver is always an advantage for people new to firearms.

I've down sized my firearm selection over time and sold off about every Taurus firearm I owned , along with other brands.
But I have kept my 85CH.
Everyone should have access to a snubbie.

My Taurus revolver isn't a snubbie, but I love it. I did the trigger work, myself, and it came out great. Anyone who thinks Taurus doesn't put out a good revolver now and again just doesn't know guns.

BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Even the new 85 ultralite isn't too bad on recoil. My wife shoots hers regularly, and I find the new Taurus cam operated trigger to be very nice in DA. I like the new finish as well. My only gripe is the grip, just a little to soft & squishy and a little narrow front to back for my paws. I prefer the older Hogue nubby style Taurus used on my 617 & 66.

I picked up one of the newer 85's with the bull handle very cheap and it was worth every dime. Nice pick up

I believe many of the newer revolvers are now bull gripped. I know the 85's and 92's are, but the Taurus website hasn't been updated to include the grips or the new matte finishes. I think they are less expensive to manufacture and install.
