    Default 38 Largo Revolver

I'm stumped on this one, and google doesn't show much. I am looking at a revolver that seller states is 38 Largo. I have actually never heard of this. I have heard of 9mm largo, but 38? One site said you could shoot 38 S&W no problem but I'm always worried about firing ammo that "should be ok". Anyone able to school me?

.38 long colt, you could probably get away with very lightly loaded .38 spl assuming the gun is safe to shoot in the first place

If it is chambered in .38Long Colt - then .38S&W is out of the question. .38S&W shoots a larger diameter bullet than the .38Long Colt. Same if it is .38S&W Special.

This, depending on the gun it might not fit in the chamber

You can get .38LC ammo, but it's pretty pricey reloading is the smart way to go

Thanks guys. The gun was just in pretty good shape overall, not a ton of wear, locks up tight, good grips, etc, etc. for $129. I have a tough time passing up any decent gun for $129................

Be careful. If it's a Spanish copy of a Colt or S&W revolver it may or may not be a "decent gun." Many of the Spanish revolver copies have exceptionally poor heat treatment and dimensional tolerances.

Thanks for the tip. It's actually the only reason I have been holding off - it is a Spanish copy - an "Orbea". Appears to be in great shape and owner says locks up tight and shoots well - but something is keeping me from it.......

What the heck, $129 - can't resist. Worse case scenario it will make a good wall hanger - but from the looks of it, I'm hoping it will be a fun plinker ! No transfer needed, shipped to house on C&R.
