    Default County forums changes

Thanks to the suggestions of members Jamie Young and Lee-online I have significantly reorganized the way the county forums are structured (no threads or posts were lost, just moved around).

They both suggested the same basic idea (which I've been slow in implementing, I apologize) that I think will make much more sense from an organizational standpoint. Basically the new structure Looks like this:

    Regions
    - <Region>
    -- <County 1>
    -- <County 2>

You can post both in <Region> and <County> forums.

So say for example you want to send out a post to everyone in the greater Philadelphia area, you can post in:

Regions > Lehigh Valley & Philadelphia Region

Which would encompass Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton & Philadelphia Counties.

However if you wanted to just post to people in Philadelphia county you can post in:

Regions > Lehigh Valley & Philadelphia Region > Philadelphia

If you guys have any questions or comments feel free to post, I just wanted to give a heads up on the change.

Lastly, I got my regions and county groupings from this map:

    http://www.pavisnet.com/cgi-bin/goto...2%22&dir=towns

Which seems to be used by PA to differentiate the regions of our state (which was news to me, learn something new every day)

Not a bad idea...thought PA should actually change the regions since the current map doesnt truly reflect associations. When we were in Northampton County we considered ourselves in the slate belt and NOT part of the Philly-Bucks crowd nor part of Easton. Now that we moved to Carbon County we wouldnt associate ourselves with the Poconos crowd either....Allentown is THE city we'd go to the official PA regions should really add another region....central Lehigh or something....we're always on the border between 4 and 5.
if you ever see my post edited...its most likely for speling :D
"Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"-In Time of War the Law Falls Silent-Cicero
"Si vis pacem, para bellum"-If you want peace, prepare for war-Flavius Vegetius Renatus

"America Starts Here!"-former PA state Slogan...until NJ complained and our wussy GovRendell changed it!

    Wink

Forgive me for opening my big mouth here, but I think the regional forums could do without the sub-forums. I think the sub-forums are spreading things out and I don't see much of a difference between the original format and having the sub forums. I think the regional forums by themselves is the best format.

    Just my honest opinion.

    And I'll go away now...
