Webley Mk. IV
Picked up and showing off a Webley Mk. IV-38 that I picked up at Oaks today. Unfortunately the lanyard ring has been ground off. I'll pick up a replacement eventually and have it installed, but it looks like they're fairly hard to find. It's a War Finish models, and luckily it wasn't painted over with cheap enamel or toxic Suncorite.

Try APEX Gunparts. They have the best Webley "bits and pieces" around. Dave_n

Very nice grab man. I noticed that and eyed it up a bit as I have been lusting over a Webley for a long time. Nice to see it went to a good home.

Nice looking Webley. I picked up one some years ago. They are good shooters.

Re: Webley Mk. IV
I have a number of Mk IVs and a few others from the same stable! Remember, the cylinders on all Webleys do not lock until the trigger is pulled back, then you cannot move the cylinder by hand. If you can, then you have a worn catch or notch.
Can reload 180 grain lead FP to mimic the 38/200 load that these were designed for. The 146 grain commercial will shoot low. The bullet should be 0.360-0.361 in diameter and Roger Burris (Roger's Better Bullets) in King of Prussia has run these bullets for me over the years and they work very well. Dave_n

Re: Webley Mk. IV
Yeah the guy behind the table noticed how I was inspecting the piece and how I was checking for cylinder movement with the hammer down and trigger pulled. This thing locks up tighter than a nun at a convent. He could tell I have a C&R license as well.
I found a guy on ebay who is selling repro lanyard rings for $25, but I'm a little confused at how they install. Do they screw in, or are they pressed in somehow?

Pinned.
Remove the grips, and three should be a pin installed in the bottom of the butt. Drive this pin out to one side (generally to the left) and using the punch drive the existing swivel stud out the bottom with a couple-few taps. Install the repro swivel in reverse.
Nothing wrong with the repro swivels; they are very true to the originals.
