    Default S&W M&P45 Shooting low

I just picked up a S&W M&P45, and overall I am very happy with it. I've only shot 50 rounds out of it so far, but it is shooting approximately 4 inches low. I was shooting American Eagle 230 gr FMJ's. The groups are good, but low. What could it be? I have been shooting the M&P9 for several years and I'm comfortable with that gun and shoot right on the money. What could it be? Could it be the ammo, or maybe the break-in period.

    Thanks Isaac

I have 3 M&Ps in 45, two fullsize/ one compact. None hit low with American Eagle out to 25yrds. This is with factory sights and Trijicon HDs. What sights are you running and what distance is it 4in low?

I just had True Dot night sights put on the gun. I was shooting between 10 and 15 yards.

I've seen True Dot have that issue on SIGs and a few Glocks. You may be able to remedy with a different height front sight. Not sure how their customer service is though. The M&P 45 should be spot on at that range, so it would be a sight issue assuming good trigger control, etc.

Are you also grouping to the left?

Take your time with the trigger they are a bit heavier and can do this until you get used to it. My m&p45 did it for about 150-200 rounds. I did it today with my shield for about 3 mags

    It's an M&P, dude, not a Glock.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

If you're shooting inside of 25 yds, this is your problem.

    This ^^^^^^^^

Some of you guys crack me up on occasion, but I think you nailed it.

Front sight is probably too high....I'd be interested to know how the old front sights measure out with digital caliper vs your new sights. A difference of only .025 - .03 inches could be enough to change your point of impact down 4" at 10-15 yds.

You gotta pay attention when you change out or upgrade sights.

    Just sayin....

I had to adjust the sights, via the file method, on two of my PT 1911's. I measured them and they were exactly the same, but POI didn't match. It's a no brainer when you know you're not flinching or you're shooting off of a muzzle bag.......adjust the sights.
