PA laws concerning "for law enforcement only" ammo...?
I just bought a few boxes of Hornady Critical Duty ammo, which has "for law enforcement only" written on the box. Never really gave it a thought before.
Is is illegal to use this ammo here in PA?Socialist Liberals Suck!

If I was using it in an actual self defense situation I wouldn't care. The "disclaimer" on the box is sort of like the tag on the mattress... "Do not remove under penalty of law"

Thanks for the replies. I thought it was OK, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if some punk ass DA caused a stink about it even if you used it to defend yourself. Just like the Punisher slide plate on my G27.

Re: PA laws concerning "for law enforcement only" ammo...?
Unless I missed it, there is no PA restriction on the ammo you can use. I use Hornady Critical Defense in 9mm. Critical Duty is one step above. It is formulated for LEOs so that they can shoot through safety glass, doors, wall board, etc, and still have a good chance of taking out their target. So Critical Duty penetrates more than usual when compared to usual self defense ammo.
When you load with Critical Duty, if you have to shoot, you have to be very aware of who might be behind your target because you might that that person too.

Critical Defense: Self Defense Ammo
Critical Duty: Self Defense Ammo made to pass FBI Barrier tests & still expand.
I carry Critical Defense in my firearm and Critical Duty in my Spare mag.
Note: In .45 ACP the Critical Duty is also +P. It is not in the other calibers - but Hornady could not meet both the goal of keeping the round normal pressure and passing the barrier tests. Even with this it is one of the only (perhaps the only) .45 self defense .45 that well pass the barrier test.
I believe that would be critical defense."Cives Arma Ferant"
