    Default Full size 1911 IWB?

So I'm thinking about buying a 1911 as my edc and I'm curious who hear carries with a IWB holster? Is it comfy or is it really annoying because its so big? I've never used a IWB holster and yes I know I would probably be better off with a smaller pistol but thats not what I want. Thanks in advance

I usually carry my 1911's OWB, but I have a Milt Sparks Summer Special IWB that's very comfortable. The 1911 is pretty slim & it's surprising how comfortable they are to carry IWB, especially for a full sized handgun.

Get a good belt, and a good holster. I'm a fan of Crossbreed style holsters, as they distribute the weight of the gun evenly over your belt. What 1911?

Do the IWB holsters come up high enough to prevent the safety from digging into your bare skin?

I have carried 1911s in Crossbreed, Kholster, and TT Gun Leather IWB holsters. All have covered the thumb safety.

oh okay sweet, I was worried that it would be kind of bulky and either a remington, springfield or rock island armory, havent really decided yet.

On the contrary, the thin-ness of the pistol lends itself to easy concealment.

Since you mentioned that it's for carry, I just want to say that I'd rather see somebody carry a $550 Glock/XD/M&P than a $550 1911.

Check into Hidden Hybrids. They make a nice IWB holster.

My husband uses an El Paso Saddlery Summer Cruiser, which is identical to yours, for his 1911. I've never been a fan of holsters, myself, and usually just carry Mexican style.

Why is that? Because of the safety issue or something I'd be unaware of?
    When the SHTF......be the fan.
