Ok So I was denied my LTCF for a few non violent misdemenors 24 yrs ago.

I would like to ask an experienced member with knowlege of the rules and or laws governing the acceptance to recieve a LTCF, to please PM me, to disuss the particulars of submitting my challenge letter.

no challenge letter is required, you should have received the challenge form with your denial, fill it out, send it to PSP, they will review it and either reverse the denial or uphold it,

if it is upheld, then you will get another letter telling you that you may appeal to the attorney generals office, which is when you write your letter, and they will decide whether to take yor appeal or not,

if they do you will have a hearing in, either reversing the denial or upholding it, if it is again upheld, then the last resort is appealing that to the commonwealth court..........

Do not submit the challenge form unless you can in good faith state that you were not convicted of any prohibiting offenses. There are penalties for unsworn falsification (as noted on the form itself, right near the place where you have to sign.)

The challenge form is not intended as just another chance to get an approval, it's intended for people who should not have been denied, it allows them to have an improper denial corrected.

If you know that you have potentially prohibiting convictions, the proper course (the one that doesn't set you up for criminal prosecution for making false statements) is to nail down exactly what your conviction is for. For $10, you can review your full criminal history with the State Police. If the convictions are not prohibiting, THEN file the challenge (or go try to buy another gun if you've run out of time since the last attempt.)

Thanks to all the replies and help........It's official I received LTCF approval card in the mail today from the Sheriff's office.

going to get my picture Tuesday morning.

How lond did it take for them to reverse the challenge. I mailed my form in Last monday and still have not heard anything.
