    Default Which Tactical belt?

I plan to buy a decent tactical belt pretty soon but I don't want to spend too much. What's a reasonably priced tactical belt that has good quality. What do you use, and how much did it cost?

    Thanks, Isaac.

As an EDC belt I use a desantis which was about $20 at targetmaster. It is very sturdy.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Not sure what you mean by "tactical"?

I have a couple 1 1/2" 5.11 instructor belts they support the gun well.

If you are talking about a "battle belt" with molle and attachment points, I highly recommend the HSGI belt. I went to a class where people had them, and they loved them.

I was using a Chest rig and while it was ok, it didn't seem as comfortable as a belt.

My HSGI belt came last week and I really like it. I havent used it in a class, but I attached 2 of their Taco mag pouches and 2 pistol pouches. I also got a dump pouch. It's amazingly comfortable. It has a gel pad on the inside so it feels good.

It does take some thought to plan out as I put all my mag pouches on 1 side. Since I bought the double Taco's, that's a total of (4) SR25 mags and 2 pistol mags on my left side. I put a Fury holster on the right for my HK, but even loaded, the left side is heavier. The belt doesn't sag or anything, but I guess I have to get used to having more weight on one side.

Anyway, just a thought if you were thinking about a battle belt.

Forgive me if I didn't use the correct terminology. I am looking for something that will hold my full size S&W M&P 45 and a couple full magazines. Something sturdy.

I assume you intend this for everyday wear, using belt loops, or are you asking for something intended for load bearing, or a competition belt?

For a gun belt to use with a holster and mag pouches, I say stay old-school and get a Bianchi or equivalent (any double-thick leather belt of the classic style). Fits on your pants, lasts forever, doesn't look like an out of place uniform item.

If for competition, I'd recommend the same belt for IDPA or a Safariland (or equivalent) double-belt system for USPSA. Rigid overbelt that velcros to a hook and loop belt that fits on your pants.

For load-bearing or tacticoolness, I don't have an opinion. Not my thing.

If you're looking for everyday belt and want something nice, I would recommend Saddleback Leather belts. They are stiff enough for pistol/mags, and look great.

If you are looking for a stiff belt, check out Ares Gear, I have an Ares belt that is pretty nice, it could be a competition belt if you wanted.

If you want something soft, a rigger's belt is always good.

Carhart makes some very sturdy belts. Make sure you look at the contractor type grade. I have been using a leather back w/ nylon front belt from them for years carrying and shooting IDPA. They make a lot of different style of belts and the better stores have a good selection.
