Universal Sight Tool

Since I occasionally change out sights on my handguns, I've decided to put away the brass punches & mallet, and get a proper sight tool. I have a variety of handguns, so it has to be universal & I want a quality tool that will last, is capable of being used at the range & won't break the bank.

I've been looking at the B&J Machine P500 Universal Pro:

Both get good reviews & look solid. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

I have a MGW sight tool for M&P pistols and it has been a solid performer.

Interested in respsones on MGW Pro.

I cannot speak directly to the MGW tool. But I bought my son their version of the Glock sight tool and it was an excellent choice. I'd bet their Universal is just as good.

I don't know shit about either but they both look nice and have good reviews. If its something you're going to use regularly it'd be worth it. I'm looking forward to hear what you get and a review.

I have the B&J 500 and have used it many times. I can tell you that it is very well made and durable however the coarse threads lend to the push rod wobbling while using it. Not only that but you have to put a penny in between the sight and the push rod because it WILL mar your sights. If you do buy it only use the round adapter because the square ones will spin while in use and WILL mar your slide. in all honesty if I had it to do again I would spend more and get a high quality pusher like the meprolight one or gun specific ones from MGW.

Thanks for the input. I was leaning toward the MGW Universal, but it looks like it requires the use of adapter shoes for each different model firearm @ $17 each. May just go with the B&J.

I have them both along with other MGM tools and a Metpro light bench unit . All have are good tools ,but the MGM pro even with it's $17.00 adapters would be the best option if money is no object. The B&H was my first ,but I rarely use any more. Easier and faster to use the others.

Run and run far away from the B&J tool. I have one and its one of the few tools that I regret buying.

The pushers are tool steel and the pusher does NOT keep them stable. They will skip, twist and ruin your slide. If you use shorter slides like the Glock 26/27 or the Springfield XD compacts, the tool does not make full contact and the side clamp will flex on you.

Spend the extra for the OTHER tool.

On the plus side the BJ tool will help you expand your profanity usage and build your forearms.......
