    Default Glock 42 - Ultra compact .380

Picked up a Glock 42 this past week in preparation for this year's shorts and t-shirt season.

So far, so good. Took it out to the range and ran 100 Win white box 95 gr fmj through it. Ran fine and produced good grouping at 7, 10 & 15 yds. Then ran 20 Rem 102 gr BJHP (carry rounds) through it. Same result.

I've carried it in a cheap IWB Uncle Mike's #1, along with one extra mag for a couple of days now. Light and very comfortable!

Only complaint/observation is round count in the mag (6 rnds). It looks like the mag could hold at least 8 rnds. Not sure why only 6? And Glock's extended pinkie grip mag doesn't increase mag capacity, which seems to me to be a waste of useable space.

I think I'm going to like this little guy. Much better reliability, weight & comfort than the stainless Colt Mustang Plus 2, I've used for this purpose.

Looking forward to the 9mm version when it comes out. Hope Glock uses the mags to full capacity.

So my selection now consists of:

Exposed OWB or duty belt - G22/G17
    Suit/Winter wear OWB - G23/G19
Light outer wear OWB - G27/G26
    Summer wear IWB/pocket - G42

I held the g42 alongside shield and I did pick the s&w but I may eventually get a 42 as well somewhere down the line and I would definitely be after the 42 in 9.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

I have a G-42 and consider it a great pocket pistol. Also, have +2 magazine extensions from: www.gallowayprecision.com. Hope this helps.

They are nice little pistols and a step up from the LCP type pistols in the user friendly dpt. I would recommend getting a better holster for it the word "cheap" and holsters should not go together when it's your daily carry.

    Good luck with the pistol.

Gaston is working on the 9x19GAP. Then you'll get your single stack 9.

It is a great little everyday carry piece. My girl just bought one and my buddy and his girl did the same. All due to Anthony arms in west mifflin pa selling them at $399!

Thanks for the link on the extended mag, laen3145.

Hodgie, I agree on the holster. Cheap isn't advisable for a daily carry. The UM's was immediately available, so I put it into service. I have a Desantis Mini Scabbard on order. Now also looking at the Kydex G13 Tactical through Galloway Precision, thanks to the link from laen3145.

ichinesu, don't be a (Glock) hater, dude! The G42 IS the ultra compact in the Glock model line. The G26/27 being the sub compact and the G19/23 being the compact of the models. Perhaps you're personally accustom to having a small package in your hand. But as your experience may indicate, for others, smallest isn't always the most gratifying or desirable!

DE50, $399.00 was a good price. I paid $405.00 with a friend of the shop owner discount. Maybe he needs to be a better friend!

Based on intel coming out of the Shot Show, I believe the 9x19 version will be out within the next year, if not sooner.

Here's the first two groups out of the box at ten yards -

perhaps you love glocks so much that you are incapable of an objective review, just like you love dicks so much you can't stop talking about them to the point where you have become one.

$405 is still a great price! I have seen some local shops selling them at $440 and $460! Our groupings are very similar to yours...its a great firearm!
