Default what pistol host for a 22 rf can?

So, I am now waiting for my paperwork on a Spectre to get approved and am contemplating a pistol host for it.

I'm really a big fan of of my Ruger MKII's, but am hesitant to send one out to get threaded, but I do have a Ruger MKIII hunter I have no issues about threading.

Thoughts? is there another host I should consider?

I use a 22/45 LITE for a suppressor host. Love it.

My first host was a WaltherP22 for my Warlock can. After that I moved to putting a Tac-Sol barrel on my Browning Buckmark. I absolutely love it. But buying a threaded barrel for a Ruger or Browning can get costly. If I were to do it again I would just buy a new gun for a host. I hate to thread factory barrels. That being said If you like the Ruger platform I'd get the 22/45.

Remember there is nothing wrong with having another gun.

Walther ppk/s looks cool and you just buy a 20$ adapter to fit can

I went the Walther P22 route. Cheap and effective.

I agree with Tacticalreload, a P-22 is the least expensive and easiest pistol to suppress. It works much better with a suppressor attached than it does without one.

That being said, if you own a Glock or two, you may want to look into getting a .22lr conversion kit for it. I used to have an Advantage Arms G17/22 .22lr conversion kit that I had to send out to get threaded (took a couple of months) because nobody had factory threaded barrels.

It's so much nicer today, and you have a lot more options than previous years. One thing is that you can get a factory threaded barrel for it. No hassle, no fuss; just mount your suppressor and go shooting.

I sold my AA kit several years ago because it didn't function as well as I thought it should have. After talking with several people who now own them, AA seems to have fixed most of their early teething problems. I just bought too early.

Another thing I didn't like about the AA kit was their magazines were to be found in the 10 round variety only. I see that they now offer a 25 round magazine, which would be far more fun than the 10 rounders.

Also, Tactical Solutions (who makes the pac-lite for the Ruger Mk series) is making a Glock 17/22 and 19/23 .22lr conversion kit with a factory threaded barrel. At $400 (through Cabela's) it might seem a tad expensive, but worth it if you get the factory threaded barrel and save yourself the hassle and wait time of sending it out to get threaded/barrel adapter for it.
