Anyone shoot Walther PPK .22 ?
Last night I was looking around at the Field & Stream store in Washington PA and saw a Walther PPK .22lr.
Ive never shot one and was looking for feedback.
Ive been in the market for a .22 pistol for a while, but I want something reliable and will fire without a bunch of hiccups like so many .22 pistols seem to have.
Here's a pic of the one I looked at;

I have no frame of reference but I heard the triggers are atrocious. If you want something reliable get a Ruger mark 2 or 3, m&p22, ruger sr22 those are all pretty good 22's

Re: Anyone shoot Walther PPK .22 ?
I have an old German made PP in 22LR. It's accurate, trigger sucks and very picky when it comes to ammo. Likes CCI Stingers and Mini-Mags.
Glad I bought it but would not do it again.
Also have a PPK/s in 380 - same as above but not picky about ammo.

I had a walther P22 and it wasn't junk but it wasn't good. I sold that and bought a S&W M&P compact and I haven't looked back. It's a fun plinker

Well thanks for the insight guys.
Looks like I'm going to pass on the Walther.
Maybe a nice 2" revolver would suffice.

Don't buy technology from the 1930's. The best little reliable 22 pistol on the market right now is the Ruger SR22. 11 shots is better than a revolver and at a lower price. I have taught many women and kids with this great little pistol. Not overly heavy like many 22 target pistols. Less ammo fussy than the similar guns from the other major brands.

Re: Anyone shoot Walther PPK .22 ?
Hmmm
I didn't even think about the Ruger SR22
I went and looked at them online and they seem like neat pistols. Especially when they have a suppressor mounted. However, they are a bit bigger than what I'm looking for. But I still would like to actually hold one before deciding.
Also does anyone have any experience with the Taurus PT22?
I know the Taurus PT22 has been around for some time now.
Do they have a lot of problems feeding or anything?

Run as fast as you can. The older ones are good, however I had one of the new pot-metal models and took it to the range, nothing but feed issues. They are junk IMHO
As another poster said, the Ruger SR22 is a much better buyIt is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere. Voltaire

Re: Anyone shoot Walther PPK .22 ?
I have shot both the Walther and the Ruger. If you use good, hotter ammo the PPK shoots great. The one I shot did not like the low power .22 we had but would run Mini-Mags all day. The SR22 shot everything. If you like the size and shape of the PPK, look for a Bersa .22. I've had one for years and never had trouble.
