The Golden bullets have duds in them. My Ruger MKIII loves them though despite the duds.

Re: .22lr hollow points remmington problem
I had the similar problems with those bullets...a lot of duds. Only thing that will run them is my Marlin bolt action. My Mark III hates them, either they're duds, or the hollow point gets hung up on the feed ramp and jams the gun. I'm too cheap to get rid of them, so I'll just shoot them a little at a time.

I've always thought there were too many duds in the golden bullets. I also always go with the federal bulk pack and haven't had many problems with them.

Remington ammo is notorious for that. I recomend CCI stinger. I hunt everything from chipmunks to coyotes with them and i have never had any problems.

Remington bulk pack has lots of duds. The Federal bulk pack isn't bad. The Wally ones shoot a little slower and drop a little more. I think theres a red box and a blue box and one shoots faster.
For high quality non bulk pack things, CCI rules.

Re: .22lr hollow points remmington problem
Yes there is a lot of problems with Remington 22 ammo due to gaps in the primer material. Most will fire if attempted a 2nd time if the firing pin hits a different location. Federal and CCI ( same company ) do not have this type of problem as frequently and are IMHO much better and more accurate. I have had a few misfires with the Winchesters also but the accuracy stinks out of my 22's. Not as bad as the Remington's but definitely not good for me.
Wolf 22 is also an excellent choice for consistency and accuracy though it may cost a bit more if you are able to find some.

Re: .22lr hollow points remmington problem
I have 3 22s, a Rem 541-s, CZ American and a CZ Scout [grandson's] and all love CCI Mini Mag lrhp, I quit the bulk cause none of it shot up with the regular product, even rem is ok in the 50 or 100 round packs or boxes but they arent as cheap as 550 bulk.
