Re: PGCA / Pennsylvania Gun Collector's Association
Good question! One the Directors of PGCA will hopefully be able to answer this weekend.
I and a few other members have suggested the show find a slightly smaller venue and return to a limited, firearms and accessory only show. Instead of allowing all sorts of flea-market items which have been seeming to creep into the PGCA shows lately; return to a "cleaner" type of show. This area does not need three anything goes gun shows. The Washington show and especially the Monroeville show fill those needs.
PFCA should do the following:
1. Limit the items to only those on their approved list.
(The amount of items in the show on their prohibited list keeps growing)
2. Rent tables only to MEMBERS. Not transient vendors who have no interest in
the collectors organization.
3. Until a large enough venue can be procured, limit the number of tables
which can be rented by in individual.
4. If there is a shortage of funds in the clubs treasury, Directors should be
paying for tables the same as any other member who rents them.
(It's a nice perk but should not a director be serving the organization and
not the other way around? Remember, Noblese Oblige.)
Just a few thoughts for those on here who are PGCA members.

Re: PGCA / Pennsylvania Gun Collector's Association
Yep, how it used to be...
I may try and make this one and "come back" to the PGCA shows.
I gave up on the Monroeville shows when their admission went crazy and now that Wash Cty has raised its prices too - why bother; too many Wash Cty shows are half-empty and at 5-bux it was acceptable. But not paying Monroeville rates for a possible half-empty show after driving that distance.
Wash Cty needs to re-think themselves. All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

I would be interested in the PGCA shows if someone in that show would figure out that you can use a smartphone to swipe credit/debit cards and allow cards for admission.
And all three of the "shows" in our area pretty much universally suck now.

This is the only show with drama though.
That's the only reason I keep coming back - to the threads. I won't attend this show.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: PGCA / Pennsylvania Gun Collector's Association
You are in the rare minority who wishes to pay for admission to a gun show with a card. Not sure if you are aware of the traffic jam that would create at the entry lines. If even 10% pay with a card the time involved will back up the entry lines something fierce. Creating a card only line is not really feasible due to the entry setup.

Re: PGCA / Pennsylvania Gun Collector's Association
I would like all who are going to the show to talk to the directors, there tables are marked with flags, and find out what is going on. They will not hold elections , ask members to leave the membership meetings when they want and do not make it easy for members to get copy's of the meetings( Hard copy's, I would pay for the paper,) Not copy's only to be read at the show. Give the members something. I am curious about the can collection, give them or the cash to the Wounded Warriors, Do you members know that 8 directors X 5 FREE tables = 250 veterans could be let in free, Please talk to the directors and make your views known .SOME ONE PLEASE SAVE THE PGCA.

What a great way for certain people to get free stuff and to hawk their ill gotten wares.
(Yes, I'm talking in particular about Phil "Goods for Guns" Dacey, President of PGCA.)
No thanks, I'll stick to the small firehall shows until the crooks are rooted out of the PGCA.
