Chris Kyle has confirmed kills out to 2100yrds with a .338 LM (which has comparable ballistics to the .300 RUM).

Should be doable. Now, this is assuming you're a trained Navy SEAL with 10 busy years experience.

very nice rig ya got there!! can a fully custom 300 RUM shoot out to 1500-2000 yardson paper target yes....can it be done consistently on game animal out to 1k yards..depends on the shooter...shooting is 75% indian and 25% arrow.
to accurately range game out that far you will need a swaro or comparable and very expensive range finder.

If you bow hunt too youll want one that does elevation calculation for tree stand shots (Inclinometer), but I think they don't read distance for the longer ranges. For long range I have an older model of this:
    http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-...angefinder.htm
but it doesnt have the inclinometer. Its lasted me about 15 years
this one does have an inclinometer, but It doesnt read out as far. Optics planet shows good reviews,

Beautiful rifle by the way, Good Luck and Good hunting!!

you will not be disappointed with that hart barrel. they are top notch barrels i have used one in a .270 caliber and it shoots excellent.
also if ya ever want to take a long range precision class check out wolfe precision they are out in central pa. they offer an excellent class that teach you how to properly reload, how to calculate range using just your scope reticle if you have that capability on your scope, they also teach you how to range targets and apply the correct dope to your gun. very informative and very thorough class.
last time i remember class was $700 for 3 day course and you bring your own ammo and gear.

Nice gun, but $5k? ouch. I'll take a Savage 110BA and a Wilson Combat 1911 for that cash...

it's a fully custom rifle put together by a top notch gunsmith. of course it's going to be expensive build. i have built fully custom rifle build by GAP, and i have also built my own custom guns off of savage actions due to being able to do everything myself without a gunsmith so i got to see the price difference, and it was about $2500 difference doing it myself. so that price is on par of a custom build.

I have had Bill from Priemier Accuracy build 2 rifles for me now and they are both insanely accurate and reliable. Keep in mind that the cost of a custom rifle not only includes barrel and gun smithing but also stock, rings, optics etc. I have also learned that getting something good costs "x" and taking it to the next level costs "5x". This is the same with just about everything in life.... Cars, Bikes, Computers, Audio Epuipment, Women, you name it.

right on..if you want a economy car your going to pay $18,000, if you want a sports car your going to pay $70,000. rifles are no exception

now if you build your own custom gun then that's another topic
