Re: PSA: Please read if you own a Winchester Safe . . .
I have figured out how to make a electrical and mechanical backup using the OEM lock. So I am covered in the event of internal failure....These safes only slow down entry..I can be inside in five minutes with a Sawzall and high speed blade. Of course I figured out how to do this after buying a mechanical lock, $100 plus and Win sent me a complete lock including keypad...

Installed 5715. Able to open safe. Changed code to not use numbers more than once. All is good for now. Thanks for the pointers Bionic.

Re: PSA: Please read if you own a Winchester Safe . . .
Here is a great video. This is what I am going to do with and when I can get into my safe. Put a mechanical lock on it. This guy has great vids for working on safes. He uses a Winchester 24 gun safe as demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC7i815Dde8&t=28s

On my safe you just lift up on the front panel and it comes up a little and lifts off.

Electrical safes I don’t trust. But I’ve got trust issues so maybe I’m not the best here. Just saying electric is not always best

Re: PSA: Please read if you own a Winchester Safe . . .
I have a Winchester Gun Safe, 26 Gun, TS26-45 from Tractor Supply. Had to replace the cheap keypad once after it fail 6 weeks after purchase. Winchester sent me the "new" one. Less than a year later I am back in the same boat. The model i see in the thread, is that a pretty much universal fit for winchester safes?
