    It's strange that in every case of a gun "just going off", the only round in the magazine or cylinder just happened to be in the chamber, or lined up with the barrel.

    I don’t carry but if I did I would never chamber a round no matter what safety features the gun has. It is easy to sit here and point fingers but things happen. Isn’t it enough to have a gun on your person with a loaded magazine in it?

    Even this seems a bit much.

    I keep the mag in my back left pocket. I can simultaneously gain purchase of firearm and magazine, with corresponding hand, load mag, then chamber a round, all before gaining sight picture.

    With constant practice, I've been under 3 seconds for deploying this procedure.
