    Question Rust never sleeps?

Hey guys. I might be a little paranoid or just babying my first pistol but I was at SPAG on Saturday and put over a hundred rounds out and when I got home there was a scratch on the slide where the cartridge ejects.

    FNS-9

Looks like the steel is exposed. Will this rust over time? Should I take any action?

    Thanks!

Relax... "battle scars" add character and "cred" just like the wrinkles on one's face...

My glock 19 has holster wear with the steel exposed and I haven't had a problem yet. I don't keep it lubed as well as I do my blued guns and it hasn't given me a problem yet.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Get some solvent and make sure it's not a brass mark.

But yeah, your gun is going to get beat up if you carry it, or shoot it.
    Don't worry about it.

My FNS had the same mark. No issues yet. Because the slide is stainless we shouldn't get any rust.
I'm only here for the wood c-rings.

Remember, stainless steel is rust resistant not rust proof.

I thought this was going to be about neil young.

    thankfully, nope...

that's pretty tame. keep maintaining it, it'll be fine. I've seen a hell of a lot worse not cause problems after years.

Looks like brass to me also. Now is that pet hair over the extractor or a crack?

Could be a pubic hair from someone's crack...

Cat hair, flash - not a good combo.
