Default New Purchase Walther PPS 40 cal Thoughts Comments

Just purchase first pistol for cc. After lots of thought and searching I went with Walther PPS 40 cal. The sub-compact size and weight really pushed me over to it and I am fine with single stack mag. The pistol is fine out of the box, but any thoughts or comments would appreciated on personal experiences. Thank you in advance.

Nice gun you picked up for yourself there. I've been looking at one of those also for concealed carry. What did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking?

Since it was a first purchase I went with a local small gun store. Jeff, the owner, spent a lot of time talking to me and showing me some things. I paid $600 and I am sure you can find it cheaper. But I went to the local guy. Also, he does a lot of work with the local police in the area which made happy to support his store.

I was just looking at a PPS 40 in a LGS and almost bought it...but I'm just not excited about polymers.

Decided to go steel-framed S&W instead. Not concealble but that's not why I'm buying that one.

Also, the small mags in the PPS turned me off...carrying between 5 and 7 rounds in a 40S&W seems wrong.

Other than capacity and maybe recoil, looks like a winner. It felt great in my hand and is very concealable for a 40. Enjoy.

I got tired of waiting for Glock, so I picked up a 9mm PPS. The slim frame fits my hand better than double-stack pistols, and it conceals very well.

My thinking exactly. Also, if I need more than 5-7 40 cal., then I got bigger problems. Shot placement is what I aspire to.
