Northern ChesCo/Pottstown/Elverson help

Ok, as a few of you may remember my wife (Duck) and I just relocated to the area a few months ago. We've been busy getting settled in to the house, our jobs, and life in general. My truck decided that it needed some work done and I took it to the PepBoys in Pottstown - needed it fast, but payed too much and the job took too long. I'm used to doing my own work but can't at the house we are renting. Anyways ... anyone care to recommend honest and reasonable shops in the area? I'm fairly sure our Olds needs a head gasket and we need to get an estimate to figure out if it's worth fixing. We live near the 23/100 crossroads for reference. One of these days we'll get around to joining a club and going shooting with some of you folks!

It's a bit of a drive for you but I like Phoenixville Tire and Auto. I've had work done there for years. It's maybe 10 miles from where you're at.

Stay away from Pepboys. They'll screw you 3 ways to Sunday.

Morgantown Garage. They do good work.

I second Morgantown Garage. Also, check out G&G Garage in Elverson (right on 23. I take all my cars there for state inspection/emissions), and Schlimy's (sp?) Garage in Elverson (at the intersection of 82, 345, and Little Conestoga Rd.).

Agreed on PepBoys ... I only went there because we needed to go to VA the next day and I needed it done that day (and I didn't know anywhere else). Ram needed a front axle u-joint.

I appreciate all of the suggestions! At least now I have a short list to go by for future work.

They would be 10 minutes away from you at most and that's where we get all our car work done.

Just avoid Lenny's. We did not like their service and I know other people who have had big issues with them

Could also try Wayne Consalvi on E Cedarville RD, for insp he won't nit pick you to death. Hub on Ram is 2 hr job on sat afternoon did one on mine back in spring
