    Default Single stacks

I handled every single stack I could find at the outdoor show yesterday. I can't find one that feels close to good in my hand. I don't have overly large hands. I don't know how guys who do have large hands do it. I guess I'm back to looking at smaller double stacks.

    You're just a 1911 hater, aren't you?

What caliber are we talking about? I bought a 1911 once with wrap around rubber grips with finger grooves that added some bulk.

To clarify, not 1911s. I'm looking for something small to carry.

HK P7. I prefer the surplus ones with the heel mag release (what many erroneously call the PSP) to the P7M8, but I have both. Excellent single stack 9MM. Yes, they are expensive, but worth it.

If you want a real sleeper and don't mind 9x18, the current surplus P-83 imports can't be beat for the money.

Love XDS. Takes a little getting used to if you normally carry a Double stack. After handling it awhile the opposite will be the case

I held a S&W Shield yesterday. Felt just right for EDC in warmer weather. The Ruger LC9s was slightly small for me. I don't have huge hands.

Would you list what you have actually fondled? Might help us eliminate possibilities.

I like the older third generation S&W's like the 3913 or 908.

    Check out the Sig p220/p6

It's the old sig single stack in 45 I believe. I've never shot one but they've got great reviews.

The shield, everything small by Taurus, the diamondback, Beretta's small stuff. I've shot the lc9 and it was very uncomfortable. I've also fired an xds .45. That was better than the Ruger and felt the best in my hands. I'm still not a huge fan of it. I understand its something in going to have to get used to. I just have a hard time spending that kind of money on something I don't know if I'll ultimately like our hey comfortable with.
