    Default Gen 1 G19 Question

So I have a Glock 19 that I bought used a very long time ago and never really knew what GEN it is. Well I have been doing some research and believe it very well may be a Gen 1.

I really have no interest in getting rid of it but wonder what is the value. Unsure of round count but I know I have fired<500rds thru it. There is Small 'Crest" on the ejector cover and the initials "ATT" at the end.

I will post pics as soon as I can. The roll marks on the frame, slide and ejector cover match and The Serial # is DW XXX.

A gen 1 will have no checkering on the grip, only a slight stippling all the way around.

A gen 1 G19 is very rare, only a few dozen or so made from the G17 frame. The slide will have K.S. A.B.C. engrave on the right side of the slide. These were issued to Kansas State Alcoholic Beverage Control.

EDIT: Just looked up the DW prefix, It is a gen 2 g19 with test firing done in December of 1988.

If you truly have a gen 1 19 you have one of a couple dozen at most that exist.

If you sell it you could probably buy a nice new car for what it's worth.

Gen1 G19's were either AN or DN I believe.

    All,
Thanks for all the info. Obviously there is a lot of stuff on the net and some of it tells conflicting points of view.

Based on this video I got to thinking I had a Gen 1 since my gun looks exactly like the point he states is the Gen 1 Model
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsYeotfvuzY

My gun does not have KS A.B.C stamped on the Slide so I guess that would disqualify it from Gen 1 Status.

Lee-Online Can you share the site you looked up the Prefix so I can use it for the future?

That video is wrong, it shows two gen 2s.

Here is a pic I took of my four different gens, the top right is a gen 1.

    A close up of a gen 1 G17.

Here is a good serial data base, you can also contact Glock directly and they will give you the info.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the true gen1s have a plastic molded serial number and the gen2 have a metal serial number, is that correct?
Pebbled grip on gen 1 verses the grenade texture on front and rear and trigger guard for gen 2.
The gen 1 19s were just cut down 17s, 19s didn't go into full production until gen 2.
    I've got a gen 2 19 that I bought new back in 1992.

Yeah I understand the difference between the Grip surface on the Gen 1 and 2 but then you have only 1 Pin as opposed to 2 on the Gen 2.

    I guess I will call mine a Gen 1.5 - No Rail, Checkered Grip and 1 Pin.LOL
Here are some of the pics I took on Saturday.
